CRAFT-N-SEAL - Epoxy free Putty for Foundries
Ladleadd has developed an epoxy free putty specially formulated for aluminium and cast iron foundries to fill blow holes and sealing gaps. Having high flexural strength and good machineability it can be used to make small patterns and loose pieces. It is a two component system : putty & hardener.
Advantages
- Craft-N-Seal is cheaper and fast setting than epoxy putty. It requires only 2 to 2.5% of hardener.
- When mixed with hardener it sets within 10 to 15 minutes to give tack free surface. Machining,drilling,tapping or filling can be done after half an hour.
- It is resistant to most oils, organic acids, alkalies and solvents.
- Craft-N-Seal is more versatile and can be used to amend and repair patterns, core boxes, sealing gaps and making small loose pieces and small patterns.
- Craft-N-Seal is available as standard, aluminium filled & iron filled grades. Standard version is used where metal lustre is not important. Aluminium filled grade is used in filling blowholes in aluminium casting, which after machining resembles the original metal. Iron filled is for castiron..
Instructions for use
a) Ensure that the surface is free from oil, dirt, grease. Roughen the surface with sand paper.b) Take 100 parts of of putty and 2 parts of hardener mix thoroughly and apply with a knife. Frequent dripping of knife in water prevents tacking of putty. For making shapes, Dilube 100 can be used as parting agent. Setting time will vary with the hardener content.
